Portable roughness measurement for determining the parameters Rz, Ra, Rq, and Rt

SRT5000

The portable roughness tester SRT5000 is a measuring device that offers high-precision measurements, a wide measuring range, and excellent performance. The device is ideal for measuring roughness on metallic and non-metallic surfaces. Due to its compact size, it can be easily used directly on-site in manufacturing processes.

Properties

  • Durable and robust aluminum housing
  • Piezoelectric touch system
  • Ra, Rz, Rq and Rt Roughness parameters in one device
  • with V-groove for surface from Ø 40 mm
  • Easy calibration via the keyboard
  • Easy-to-read OLED display
  • Li-Ion rechargeable batteries with short charging time and long lifespan
  • Warning signal for low charge level of the lithium-ion battery and battery status indicator
  • Automatic shutdown after 2 minutes
  • Integrated slider to protect the probe tip

Measurement principle

During the measurement process, the sensor is moved linearly along the probing path. The probe follows the profile of the probing path and moves up and down. These movements are converted into electrical signals, which are then amplified, filtered, and converted into digital values using an A/D converter. Based on these values, a mathematical representation of the profile is created using a microprocessor. Based on this representation, the Ra and Rz values (or Rq and Rt values) are then calculated according to the relevant standards and displayed on the screen.
